See Paris by night on a France holiday

Those of you packing your bags for a France holiday might like to take a trip to Paris to see the Nuit Blanche festival on October 2nd and 3rd.

According to the Lonely Planet, this is the first overnight event of its kind dedicated entirely to contemporary art.

This year’s programme is designed to be “a homage to the act of strolling”, encouraging visitors to walk between the different activities, writer Donna Wheeler stated.

The performances will be spread out between the east of the city – in the bars and studios of Belleville – the centre and the west, around the Musee d’Art Moderne and Palais de Tokyo.

Ms Wheeler’s selected highlights include an art exhibition based on live horses at the Palais de Tokyo and a recreation of Erik Samakh’s Lucioles (fireflies) illumination on the Ile de la Cite.

Furthermore, journalist Dominic Earle recently wrote in a piece for Time Out that Paris is one of the most charming cities in the world.
